The Program
Lebanon Ballet School offers a well-rounded curriculum designed to expose students to the diverse world of dance. The goal of our qualified professional staff, is to enable each student to reach his or her potential.
Lebanon Ballet School has three levels of training:
Discover Dance, in which our younger students explore the many physical, artistic and creative skills inherent in learning dance; Discover Ballet, in which students are introduced to the fundamentals of ballet technique; Ballet I-IV, graded technique classes specifically designed for upper level ballet students.
Classes in Jazz, Floor Barre and Modern enhance our students’ training. The schedule also offers various classes at the teen/adult and lower levels for recreational dancers who want only one or two weekly classes. The process of learning to dance is one of both intellectual and physical accomplishment. Instruction is individualized to best encourage and facilitate each student’s abilities. Advancement is based, not on length of study, but on technical accomplishment, artistic development, emotional maturity, personal work ethic and readiness for the challenge of the next level. The benefits of ballet training extend far beyond the mastery of steps and positions.
Classical ballet training also develops:
Beautifully-sculpted, strong, flexible bodies
An appreciation for the arts – both as a performer and as an audience member
The joy of expressing oneself through movement
Dedication, Determination, Discipline, Patience, and Attention to detail
The ability to set and achieve goals
Being a dancer is not only about mastering a physical activity – it is a state of mind. The longer one studies, the more each of these attributes is developed. The gift of ballet training forever enriches who we are and remains with us throughout our lives.
